Just six years ago a member of the Daparak family, Chris Vitovich, began a brackish water fishing tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society and to honor a fishing buddy lost to cancer. Daparak is extremely proud of Chris and, as in years past, we are officially joining his effort as the lead sponsor of the Steve Gambill Cancer Classic. Last year, thanks to sponsors like you, we raised over $14,260 (despite some very uncooperative weather) for the American Cancer Society, for a six year total of $48,211. Our goal this year is to top $17,000 and exceed $20,000 in our eighth year. The Cancer Classic has attracted media coverage from the Virginia Pilot. This year we anticipate the support of several nationally ranked professional bass fishermen.
Daparak is again asking that you join us and the other sponsors and supporters by making a contribution to this great cause. And, if you are in the neighborhood, we invite you to come on over for a day of fishing, great food, and live music. The date this year is June 1, 2008.
